Some of you Hawaii expats living abroad, like me, may be missing some of the ono grindz from back home. Although many of the recipes you may be able to find online, a lot of them doesn't have that home kitchen touch.

7-Up Mold

This recipe is from a friend who does wonders with Jell-O. She is known as the Jell-O Queen. This one is great for parties and potlucks, especially during the summer.

8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
2 tsp lemon juice
3 cans mandarin oranges
1/2 cup syrup from the oranges
4 - 5 pkg gelatin
1 1/2 cup boiling water
1 can 7-Up, chilled

Mix the cream cheese, sugar and lemon juice. Drain juice from oranges saving 1/2 cup. Dissolved unflavored gelatin in the reserved mandarin juice. Add the boiling water to the gelatin and mix well to dissolve. Add gelatin mixture to the cream cheese and whip. Add the 7-up, then fold in the oranges. Pour into a 9 X 13 pan and refrigerate
